Can anyone help

Hi

My Mini Cooper was involved in a minor accident yesterday

Damage to front bumper (drivers side). Along with indicator in bumber and front fog light. Also slight crease in bonet near headlamp.

Informed insurance company and they want to have it repaired ideally with there approved repair centre.

I would prefer the car to go an approved Mini bodyshop.

Does anybody know how good the local Mini bodyshops are in the Reading area. Any advice welcome.

Thanks

Can't comment on MINI Bodyshops in Reading, but don't let your insurance company push you into getting your car repaired where they want. You are entitled to take your car anywhere and it's only because the insurance company get a discount from their approved bodyshop that they recommend them. Often the work is not done to the same high standard as when you are paying full rate for their work.

I'd get views on MINI approved shops if you can due to their familiarisation with the car, if not go for any shop recommended by friends and family, even better if you can see cars that have had repairs carried out.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Again, cannot comment on the Reading area, but I too had a simular problem after and accident and the insurance company insisting on using their own bodyshop. It cost me £50 to use my own after much haggling, but Bedfordia's Group bodyshop in Bedford have just returned my car in what I can only describe as factory delivered condition after £3.5k of repairs.

Fantastic job.

Check if your dealer offers any Accident Management Schemes
If so then you`re sorted

Hi there - sorry to hear about this.

It's your car, it goes where you want, simple as that, though you may need to get a couple of quotes. It should go to a BMW approved b/shop anyway.

I had my bonnet resprayed at Cooper reading, can't fault them, though the body shop is in High Wycombe.

Give Coopers a ring and arrange an estimate, this can be done in Reading as the b/shop chap goes to them. Also, the b/shop lent me a car FOC as opposed to paying £ per day for a mini or BM.
