Thank god for that , thought i was going mad. I get an electric shock if i open the door , boot or bonnet. My bloke said i was being daft and that it had never happened to him. At least i can be saved from the funny farm. ha ha

I have leather and it still does it. I think its the carpet mats that do it....Rubber mats may look horrid (IMO) but they will probably stop the shock. Alternativly just hold the rim of the door befor setting foot outside.

For me, it doesn't matter what car, what time of the year, I always get zapped. I also get zapped on things like freezer doors at the supermarket (really embarrassing when you let out a yelp!!)

As others have mentioned, the best way to deal with this is to 'earth' yourself as you get out of the car, by making sure you are holding on to the metal part of the car. This has become habit for me - and I don't really even need to think about it now.

people are scared to come near me as i zap them
