I called MINIUSA and they said the ship was to arrive a day early on the 20th but their system still shows my car on the ship? Cant seem to find anything on the WW site... I figure another week to 10 days before I can take delivery (here in MD). 2002 Indi Blue/White Cooper, Sport Pkg, Premium Pkg, Cold Pkg, Xenons (dropped from order), white bonnet stripes. Scheduled production date 7/12/02

WW website... Shows my car still on board along with all other cars with same booking #. Are the WW updates falling behind? They had been pretty timely up to this point. Chili Red / Black Roof Cooper "S", delivered Aug 5, 2002. If you have read this far you are obsessed - Make a donation to MINI2 and become a sponsor! Enjoy every sandwich. - Warren Zevon

For those interested, I have confirmed with MINIusa that the cars were unloaded on 7/21 and are now at VPC waiting for a health check and to be released to dealers. Last part of waiting has now begun. --------------------------------------- Cooper S with Cold weather, Fog lamps, MFSW, DSC, PDC, Xenon, OBC, BMP intake, All Liquid Yellow.

When I spoke to MINIUSA yesterday (I haven't called today... yet), they said my car was booked on a transporter leaving on 7/29, and that it's usually only a day transit time (I should hope so, my dealer is only about three hours up the road from the port). That all jibes with the estimated date of 7/30 on the OL. The next concern would be to avoid the random roving "paperwork isn't here yet" bug that seems to be going around. At my dealer (Keeler), pblock's car arrived Friday morning and he drove it home Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, minimum_wage's car arrived Monday but he can't drive it home because apparently the MSO/MCO (Manufacturer's Statement/Certificate of Origin) hasn't arrived at Keeler yet, and he's been told that it usually arrives "a couple days" after the car. All seems a bit sketchy to me, although some people at other dealers have run into the same thing... -Ricardo

| My Cooper, also headed to Keeler, just arrived at the VPC. It had a scheduled transport day of the 26th, but since it arrived 3 days late from the port (somebody take it for an extended joy ride?) they expect it to probably leave on the 29th Picked up the car on Aug 6, 10,200 miles already IB/W Cooper, Rogue Exhaust, Magnecor Wires, K&N filter, Porterfield Brakes. | My MCS arrived on Saturday on the Takasago and according to MINIUSA this morning was still waiting to be processed through the VPC. The Owner's Lounge says expected delivery on 7/30. I was real lucky getting on the Takasago since I had a 7/12 production so I won't complain. I was kind of hoping the luck would continue though and I would have it in time for the Austin Powers premier on Friday. Looks like I'll have to wait a little longer. |
