NW Road Trip

Leaving for the Seattle area from San Diego on the 10th of August. Takin' the coast road up, and depending on the time left, probably goin' thru Sacramento or thereabouts on the way back. Hope to be in Huntington Beach on the 18th.

Suggestions requested for points of interest on the way. Did about half of this once B4 in a pal's 1275S, and the full trip many times in our Westy, but this time I'm planning on taking in the scenery, and the curves. .

Tillamook is one stop fer sure - my brother wants squeaky cheese if we're stayin' with him. Let me know what sounds promising, and I'll try it. If any MINI folk are about, I'll try to catch you if you want to tag along for while Hope for some ideas soon.....

BCNU,
Rob in Dago

Coast Road all the way

Gotta stop at the drive-thru tree, south of Eureka. There are a couple of signs. Take some pictures and post them here.

The oregon coast highway is listed as one of America's Scenic byways. The Washington coast is pretty nice as well, especially if you can the spend the time to drive around the Olympic Penisula.

Have a good time

Picked up the car on Aug 6, 10,200 miles already IB/W Cooper, Rogue Exhaust, Magnecor Wires, K&N filter, Porterfield Brakes. Serious Autocross Fun

If you can drive another 2.5 hours north of Seattle....

come and visit Vancouver, BC!

Our Sea to Sky highway (heading north from Vancouver to Whistler Ski Resort) is a definitely must drive road trip. You have the sea to one side and the mountains on the other side. Twisty well paved roads offers a lot of fun specially if you enjoy driving.

Great road to enjoy the MINI! If you need more info, let me know.

If you have gone as far as Vancouver, take a ferry to Vancouver Island and take the drive to Long Beach, the drive through Sutton Pass is made for the MINI.

I would second the nomination for Vancouver Island. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. If you have a spare day, drive to Tofino (sp?) on the west side of the island and take the boat trip to the sulfuric hot springs. It's a bunch of hot pools right at the tide level, with hot and cold water splashing about, just amazing.
