Cool Bug Splat Competition!

Hi Guys,

I know we all love cleaning our beloved Minis, and with winter out of the way at least the tailgates are going to stay clean! However, we now have the annual problem of cleaning dead bugs off the front of the car. I'm sure you agree that this is a pain so why not have some fun with it...

Lets have a competition to see who can get the most bugs on their cars! I've just done a 640 mile round trip between Derby and Stirling on two of the hottest days so far this year and hammered a fair number of bugs... see if you can beat me and attach you photos!

Happy driving!!

You talk about the rear of the car staying clean and the front getting splattered.

Do I get any points for getting the back window of my MINI splattered with bugs?

Tigger.

I don't want to play this game with my Mini!

My personal record was driving back from Barcelona to Hereford in my A4 in 17 hours in the middle of June - I wish I'd taken a photo, but by midnight when we got back, the number plate was unreadable!! It took two goes with the local Safeway pressure washer to remove the bodies from the front of the car.

About 250 miles in reverse on a nice day in May

Actually, it was cheating; when my car went on the transporter, it was the one at the front on the top deck and it was reversed on

Come to thing of it, I'd hate to have reversed it up there myself AND had to guess when it was time to stop I hadn't thought of that before, doesn't bear thinking about really

Tigger.

I'm still kicking up road salt on my car's bum

And bugs on the front ... but fortunately hyper blue doesn't show them as much as LY does

Well, they told me I won the award for "Most Bugs" when I was at the Tail of the Dragon in 2004. (Photo by AC, because the bugs turned out better in his photo than mine.) Or, as Jen said "Your car looks like a crime scene!"

damn, wish I had taken a photo of mine on MtM the other week, as it was covered

another good competition would be to see who can get the longest/biggest splat from a single bug Tape measure in the shot too

There I was thinking you were driving so slow, that the bugs caught you up

Just had to say it

I often have a collection of live bugs and dead bugs on mine, so I do think yellow attracts them...
