Is your licence worth £40 ??

Thats right, is your driving licence worth 40 quid ??
Every one speeds now and again either intentionaly or
not.* Ever done 35 in a 30 zone?

Woolworths are selling Inforad GPS camera detectors for
40 quid!! Used to be 80!!
Nothing fancy but works a treat. Bought one from*
Woollies in town and it picked up every camera on the way
out of home. Just plug and play.
Also comes with a years free updates. Well worth the money.

do they offer any kind of guarantee that if you get caught by a camera that they will cover the costs?

oh and don't forget to add in the subscription charges that are not going to be included in that £40

What a stupid thing to ask/say.....

So, I buy a detector, and expect to be able to break the law and Woolies/manufacturer cover the cost with a guarantee....

Yup first year is free. Have registered and uploaded new database.
All working fine.
If it saves me from accidentally going through ONE camera slighty too fast and getting a ticket its paid for itself.

:edit: Also available at Woolies online for the same price !

well its the guarantee that other more expensive models have given before, if you don't get warned of a camera by the detector they pay the fine

GPS warning systems are fine for fixed cameras, which tend to be obvious on the road anyway, but they are not necessarily as good for mobile units. I use a GPS warning system simply because it is not always that obvious what the speed limit is. Does the one from Woolworths monitor your speed, and know what the speed limits are through cameras - ie to warn you to slow down?

I can think of single carriageways in city/residential areas where speed limits are 60mph, and dual-carriageways that are set to 30mph or 40mph limits. If you're driving down an unknown road, you can guess the speed limit given the present risks, and you'll see the speed camera signs, but there won't necessarily be any speed limit signs - something I think the UK is particularly bad at.

Fixed camera dont get that many people its the mobile ones thats why you need a laser detector like a Snooper or Road Angel also as most mobile cameras now hide so you cant see them Road angels are very handy

but for £40 sounds like good deal to beat the fixed cameras

The Woolies special works like this :-

Green - not a problem
Red and a Beep - theres a camera but you within the limit
Flashing Red and Beeping like mad - Theres a camera slow down!!

My Road Angel cant find its **** from its elbow most of the time - forever losing track of the satalite, and then its pretty useless. Even a few trees can render it 'lost', yet my sat nav always performs well.

Tonyt3 ---- I fear that there is something amiss with you Road Angel! I never have those problems. BTW the SNOOPER can be a PITA as it picks up radiation from many other sources than cameras! Try driving through a town with it on!

If you get a ticket using there system (within the first year), send them the ticket and they will pay it.
