Some advice about repair work, Please!!

I got rear ended close to a montn ago, my car (which was only 10 weeks old) got pretty badly dmaaged and it's been in the workshop since, the garage originally said there was 4 days labour but then came back a week later and said there's two parts for the exhaust, a bracket and a screen(?) that are not currently available, and they've been on to England an Germany everyday but their hands are tied, I asked how long it might take (the four days labour should have nded last thursday) and he said it could be another week, or it could be a month, could be 6 months but they can't give me my car back incomplete?

Meanwhile, I'm driving a rental vectra, which is ****ing me off enough but this all happened when the car was so new, this is supposed to be the best time to drive it

Anyway, just wondering if anyone knows what I can do because this just feels like it's not right at all

Something sounds wrong there They must be able to source parts quicker than that! But meanwhile I hope they're not charging you for the rental car and any extra labour hours over and above what was quoted. Have you checked with another dealer?

Best of luck

No, the guy who hit me admitted liability so it's all going through his insurance. I'm going to try to get the part numbers tomorrow and see if I can source them myself

I think thats all I can do?

might be worth trying to get a second opinion on the availability of the actual parts, to see if they are been truthful or just yanking your chain

Ask him for the part numbers of what is out of stock and then post them, I am sure someone can find out on here, or call their dealer to find out what the system is showing against the part numbers, I know I can on Thursday if no-one else has by then

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?
