What sort of settings do you use? have you got a mount or do you fix it in any other way?

2 of mine here,

taken by holding the camera steady against the car,
in manual setting using around a 2sec shutter speed to create the trailling lights

Something I've been meaning to do for a while, but not got round to. The nearest I got was

where the angle was a bit much and the blur was applied in photoshop

You haven't said how you got yours? Do you use a mount?

Your post drew me out of the woodwork.

A few tips:

Drag out the shutter time and slow down the car (really slow). That will help stabalize the shot and keep the car from getting that soft focus feeling.
Shutterspeeds in the 3 to 8 second range have tended to work best for me
Shoot at your lowest ISO
At night, you need to evaluate your light sources to make sure the car is being lit enough and that you don't just get a streaked background.
If you have the ability to shoot RAW, do so. It will allow you to do custom white balance editing after the fact.
A mount of some kind is a necessity. It's basically the equivalent of having a tripod.

Well after i gave the MINI a good wash, wax and polish yesterday, i thought i'd take her out for a few pics.

They're not great but i did my best with what i have.
