color pickin'

ok, I'm going to order my MCSa on Saturday (after I finally get to test drive one), and I'm having trouble picking the color. I've got it narrowed down to 3 I like :

#1 - Space Blue, silver roof, silver bonnet stripes.
#2 - Dark Silver, black roof, black bonnet stripes.
#3 - Pepper White, body color roof, black bonnet stripes.

I've seen lots of pictures in people's galleries and they all look great but it's tough to get a feel for what they will look like in person. The only one I've seen close up is dark silver/black and it was very nice, but I'm leaving my options open. Almost all of the space blues in the gallery seem to be Checkmates, and it's tough to get a feel for what it looks like without that package.

How did you guys pick your color? Did you see what you liked at the dealer first? Was the $450 difference for a metallic color a factor in your decision? Help me out

I knew I wanted blue or green and the MINI BRG looked icky, so I went with HB. So it was pretty simple for me.

I have yet to see a combo that looks bad ... some just make my heart beat faster than others. And red would clash with my hair, so if my car's a fashion accessory, chili red is out

$450 is nothing when you think about the rest you're putting it into the car. so banish thinking about that price difference ...

I like the space blue because it's not as common. And with silver bonnet stripes I'm sure it will look brilliant. In fact, just saw my first one in my metro area today. I've only seen it on convertibles so far ... so don't know about the silber roof.

PW/B is a classy combo too.

Ever since I saw the first photos of the MINI I loved the Liquid Yellow/White one, but I never got the chance to see one in the flesh! When I decided to get a MINI and I visited the dealership, I was planning on getting a Black one, but when I spotted my LY/W MINI at the dealer's storage area I fell in love with it and ignored every other option!

The colours that you've mentioned are all great looking ones. However, if I were too pick one up I think that I'd go for Space Blue/Silver! It's such a nice colour combination!

I'm liking Pepper White at the moment - black roof. Or Black Eye Purple (Purple Haze) with a white roof

If I had to choose one I'd go for PW with a black roof, but they're all great combinations. I don't think you'll regret whatever you go for!

I was stuck for colours and combinations too when I ordered mine in January

I finally went with PW/B with black bonnet stripes (check out my gallery) after seeing one in the showroom. Never thought I would get a white car but pepper white really is something else

I'm sure you'll love whatever you get

I had never really considered Electric Blue until I saw it in the flesh at the dealers and then I was smitten. I had been totally stuck until then, So I think you really need to see the colours in the flesh to find out which one grabs you!

I know you can't get it now but I am partial to Indy Blue and Black roof with black stripes

I'd go with PW/B because it looks really good and because $450 isn't nothing to me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. I know the car is $24k, but saving $450 here and skipping the cold weather package and the on-board computer which are things I really don't need, and I've saved nearly $1k and don't have to put so much cash down upfront to reach my desired monthly payment. I'd rather skip options and be able to afford an MCSa, than buy a higher spec CVT Cooper...

Well, I just got back from from my dealer (300 mile round trip)....and ordered Space Blue, silver roof/mirrors and the silver stripes. I just think the combination looks awesome, and I've never seen another one in that color. Now the wait begins....

I have a 2005 Space Blue MCS with the silver bonnet viper stripe and silver roof. I love the color combo and wouldn't change it for anything. I originally went to the dealer intending to buy a Red MCS with black stripes and roof, but this color combo is relatively unique and very cool. I think you'll goingn to like it. Photo attached:
