Matfrost, have you tried any other dealers? I know sometimes there can be quite a difference between them .Dealers will use the excuse now that with the new model coming out shortly there will be a drop in the second hand values of the current model which to a degree is true, but MINI will surely need to make the deal sweet enough for people to swop to the newer model. mrash, is there a possibility that your wife could wait until the new model arrives later this year because the residuals on the new one will be better for the first couple of years after they are first introduced.Thats assuming that your wife will like the new design! ![]()

well i havent seen enough of the new facelifted one, spyshots are ropey and dont give a true reflection, unless there are some real pics of a new one? Also, i dont think subtle facelifts affect residuals, looking at what people are asking for 3 year old mini's in auto trader. Also, doesnt anyone on here buy there's on a pcp? or have done? Id like to know if anyone has, and how things were when they came to p/x there mini at the end of the term

I bought my last one on a similar scheme through MINI, it wasn't a PCP (possibly contract purchase?)because they didn't guarantee the future value but in agreement with the dealer i set the final ballon payment at £3500 after 48 months.I part exed my first ONE after 20 months of the 48 month term and got £9750 i think which with what i had paid already gave me £2200 to put toward my next one, the same amount roughly that i had put down as a deposit. I think the residuals will drop a little because this isn't just a minor facelift like the one done in summer 04 this is a redesign with new panels and completely new interior, new wheels the whole kit and kaboodle. ![]() Last edited by zyo; Jun 5th, 2006 at 06:32 PM.

Residuals on the MINI are very strong. The only things that loose value are the options on the car. Pepper pack and a/c are good options to have and will help the resale. You won't get your money back on some other options such as satnav. Overall though, the values stand up pretty well.
