Takasago My MINI arrived last Sunday on the Takasago. MINIUSA says it is still not at the VPC. Anyone else in the same situation? I thought most of the delays were at Southampton, apparently the bottleneck continues on this side of the Atlantic also! Tom

As of Friday afternoon (6/26) my MCS had still not made it to the VPC. It was scheduled to be released for transportation on Monday....looks like there's a chance it won't be making it's trip to the Midwest quite as quickly as I had hoped.

I think Takasago is Japanese for "purgatory". According to MINIUSA, my car was due to head out of town on a transporter on Monday 7/29. As of Friday afternoon, it still wasn't checked in to the VPC. As of right now, the Owner's Lounge still lists it as "En Route". So far my MINI has been late at every step. 2.5 weeks at Southampton, 1+ week in Jersey without making it to the VPC, it was even built 5 days after it's production date... -Ricardo

Here's what I was told, my car was scheduled to arrive at the VPC on the 21st and booked on a truck for the 26th. But was delayed in arriving at the VPC until the 24th, so they figured it should be delayed about 3 days before getting on a truck. I called friday and it had not completed processing, but should be done soon. I'm going to call the 29th and see if the 3 day delay was accurate. Your experience may vary..... Picked up the car on Aug 6, 10,200 miles already IB/W Cooper, Rogue Exhaust, Magnecor Wires, K&N filter, Porterfield Brakes. Serious Autocross Fun

MINIUSA has told me that my car was released from the VPC to transportation today. Now the waiting is really getting more difficult. It has been a long time since June of 2001 when I placed my deposit. How long from N.J. to Kansas City? Come on EB/Black MCS (no name yet). Tom

My car finally straggled into the VPC today, the day it had been scheduled to depart via truck. Oh well. Don't want to break up this persitent lateness theme it has going, I guess. Hopefully it's trip through the VPC is swift and uneventful. And Sejanus, my car is still listed as "LOADED ON VESSEL" on the WW site, all 504 cars on my Bill of Lading are still listed as such... -Ricardo
