Can't seem to find the spare tire.

I know: crazy question, but where is it?

Thanks!

Have you got run flats on your cooper?

It may be the case that you didn't get one, i know my cooper which had run flats, never had a spare.

Hope this helps

It's hasn't got one

Unless you paid extra for for a space saver to be installed.

If you have run flat tyres you have nothing. If you have go flat tyres you should have a compressor and some gunk under the carpet in the boot.

It was acceptable in the 80's

I have a feeling that is the case, but the front tyres have been replaced with fresh ones: how can I tell whether they are run flats?

Were they replaced with the same make?

What make are they? If you look on the sidewall they have the run flat brand name on them. For example Dunlops have DSSC written on them. You have to be careful as they do the exact same tread pattern in run flat on go flat varieties on Dunlops.

They were replaced by BMW mini so I assume they put the correct tires on it.

Thanks for your help!

Yeah they will be run flats then provided you have 16" Wheels or above.

Only the 15" wheels (steel or alloy) have go flat tyres. These are only fitted to Ones and non Chilli Pack Coopers (unless otherwise specified).

'Go Flats'

Not really the best name as they all go flat. They're runflats not puncture proof

Well not really unless the side walls have collapsed. A run flat with 0psi looks like a regular tyre that's lost about 4psi but I get what you mean.

Even run flat is wrong as it's not strictly flat. Just a nice name to use like go flat.

I remember the first time I took my car for a new tyre as I had a puncture. The guy took my keys drove the car into the workshop. He looked round the car and said "I thought you had a slit in the sidewall?" "I have" I said. "So how come all your tyres are inflated?"

Classic!

It's even more weird watching them take the valve out, no air comes out and the tyre is still up.

GO-FLATS spares are situated under the boot. They are accessed by undoing the bolt under the boot carpet.
