United-States "S" Options - from "must have" to "Arghhh!"

Since it appears unlikely that Peabody will have the S I want in stock, I'm guessing it will have to be ordered, or maybe they will be able to find and obtain it from another dealer.
Would love to hear what present owners feel (from "must have!" to "Arghh!") about various options and packages available for the S.

Best to all (temporarily from San Francisco, soon to return to Boston, Mass. area).

If you're returning to Boston, definately think about the cold weather package -- heated seats, mirrors and washer jets. It's about $300 I think?

Must have... 2-spoke leather MFSW, AC (auto or manual - as long as you have it!), 17/18" wheels, heated seats, xenons and I also quite like the anthracite headlining!

Arghhh... chrome interior/exterior (I just don't like chrome), 15" wheels, chrono pack (prefer the centre speedo)... and I think that's it really!

After years of German auto climate, I'm so happy to have manual climate again. Biggest difference for me is that you never need to turn the manual climate on - great forced air flow without the fan!

That and the sunroof are most important to me.

It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow.

if you get leather, you MUST spring for the english leather.

unless you like rock chips, you MUST get a clear bra.

if you think you want an armrest, you MUST try one at the dealer first. one size *doesn't* fit all.

i like auto ac, but with no flow through ventilation w/o fan as noted above, that's an "aaaarrrrgh" for me.

for me, the anthracite headliner was a must.

06 MCS JCW PH/PH premium, sport, webspokes, black leather, anthracite dash and headliner.

I love the chrono pack. With it you only have one area to look at to see RPM and speed. Another benefit is having the oil temp. gauge so you can see when the engine is really warmed up before you start pushing it (since the oil takes longer to warm up than the coolant.)

Just another opinion ...

Do you like the clear bra on your Mini? I was thinking of having one installed but hear horror stories about them not fitting right.

What's a 'clear bra' on a Mini?
