It really bugs me

Hi all

I am driving down through France in a couple of weeks time in my Pepper white MC. From past experience, the front of my car and windscreen is gonna be a graveyard for dead bugs. Is there anything i can put on my car to make the cleaning easier (I have even considered a layer of petroleum jelly to the bonnet but i,m scared it will just cook the paint). I cant be bothered with bras or stick on vinyls, there must be something that allows you to just wipe the crap off. As for the windscreen i guess I'll be taking a bottle of autoglym fast glass and a kitchen roll.

One good thing is i'm goin to drive through Le Mans and down the Mulsanne Straight towards Tours opening her up a bit as I go - I went to the 24 hour race many years ago and i've always wanted to do it -

Any ideas would be appreciated

I would want to give the car a really good polish plus a going over with AutoGlym Super Gloss Protection... makes cleaning easier.

Then pack a bottle of Meguirs Quik Detailer and a huge roll of polishing cloth

Have a FUN trip!!

Holts sell a Bug and Insect Remover aerosol spray. It used to be called Mixra. You spray it on and it foams up on the windscreen. Leave it for a minute and then use the wash/wipers. You can also use it on the bumpers and paintwork.

My Pepper White Cooper was caked and splatted by bugs last summer in France, unfortunately there's not much you can you to help these bugs to their premature death

I did however found that the water jet sprays found dotted near petrol stations and garages really effective of removing these bugs

I'll be taking a bug remover, wipes and lotions this summer.....

A lot of the service stations have buckets of soapy water and window cleaning scraper thingys that you can use so just give it a quick clean when you stop for petrol

Baby wipes are good for removing bugs and splats. Only problem is that the baby wipes leave a smeary lotion on the screen, although I'm not sure if they're good for paintwork.
