Offline | I am picking my MCS up tomorrow and have been thinking about this as well so I would also be interested in what people's views are. The only one I have had a real good look at is Tracker. That one seems pretty good |

Offline | we had a tracker retrieve fitted to our last cooper as it was an ex dealer demo and they paid for the tranfer of ownership (as the dealer get them free and dont have to pay subscription) but the new owner normally would have to pay to take it over but the salesman told us it was part of the deal so they ended up footing the bill!! |

Offline | I have Tracker Monitor on mine but I do know that Tracker has over hauled and now lowered prices across their range at the moment I paid life time subscription on mine as I intend to keep it in the long run but I did haggle on the deal from the dealer Selected insurance companies do offer further discounts with Tracker or equivalent fitted It also add that peace of mind if you had any bad experiences in the past!! |

| knowing me, knowing you | I looked at tracker for mine, as I was always worried about it been taken, or the keys been taken. But there are other options out there that do different jobs, such as the Hook and Cane from www.newministuff.com this is something worth considering, as if the car is stolen, you are not depending on the police having the tracker equipment to find your car, it just shuts down when out of range ![]() Its only a forum you know! ![]() |

| "I'm kind of a big deal" | By the way, it's not a good idea to shout about the fact you have a Tracker fitted! The reason Tracker don't supply you with "TRACKER FITTED!" warning stickers for your windows is because if a theif doesn't know it's fitted, they're not going to bother stripping your car to look for and destroy it. Therefore increasing your chances of getting your beloved Mini back should you be unlucky enough to have it stolen! |

| "I'm kind of a big deal" | Just do it! You don't want to be stood on your driveway sometime in the future looking at the space where your Mini used to be thinking, "I WISH i'd had that Tracker fitted" You won't need it until you wish you had one. (maybe i should send that to their marketing department?) ![]() |

Offline | i have tracker monitor fitted to mine. it is 109 each year or fully fitted for life about 650. my only concern with having a system which shuts the engine down and sets off the alarm is that the thieves may then trash my car. i'd prfer they get away then leave her parkled up for a few hours to see if tracker is fitted or not. you can also get a tracket fitted which gives you a key fob and you must have this on you when you start the car, if you don't the centre is alerted to someone possibly stealing the car with a keys. is that horizon?it's bloody expensive though! nil satis nisi optimum:blue til i die |

Offline | Check this story. Talking to a girl last night in the gym where I work and she said her husband had his EVO stolen from their house. The 3 thieves broke into the house around 3 in the morning, went straight to their bedroom and one of them woke the guy up with a knife and demands the keys. He evaded the knife and had a go but he got punched in the nose and one of the other guys punched her in the jaw!! He ended up giving them the keys. Now. The car had a tracker fitted because it was a show car and was modded up. He also kept it low on petrol in case it got pinched! The tracker was activated, but the police were so slow in responding, they never caught the car!!! The petrol idea worked as the tracker people said the car stopped about 2 miles from where they live for an hour (might have been checking the tracker mind)!! They were probably gone to fetch petrol! The tracker is only as good as the police, and if it isn't catching speeding motorists going 2 MPH over the limit for £60, we know what that means! ![]() |

Offline | yeah i have ha dthis debate all the time. If my MINI was stolen would i want to see it back after its been for a joy ride? i personally wouldent want to see it in that state. I have tracker retrieve it was with my MINI free, and i paid sub for a year on it. Havent bothered to renue sub yet, for this reason. Now as someone has correctly said you are not supposed to advertise the fact you have it which i can see both sides on this! one you dont want a perfessional theif nicking your car and going through the whole car trying to find where it is. one in 30 locations its hidden. But how come when i called them to find out for a mate if his cooper had it, without asking who i was etc they told me yes it does have tracker retrieve!! from my experience with them trying to send me the bill to renue beggining of this year was awfull. I was literally begging them to send me the bill, one moment they said its free which i knew was wrong, then 300 then 100 for life! very odd! so i still dunno! |

| "I'm kind of a big deal" | Subscriptions costs for the Monitor and Horizon are £119 per year or £325 for duration of ownership. The Response and Echo are £149 and £159 per year respectively and £425 and £450 for duration of ownership (up to 3 years only for some reason). |
