Is it "wrong" to replace the black side grills on an MC with the chrome "S" ones?

Actually, I realize it's OK to do whatever you want, but still I wanted some opinions on doing this. I like the chrome "S" side repeater grills and, just as important for me, they are on sale for $25 a pair.

The red "S" would look good on my CR/W MC and my last name starts with S, so I could say I've monogrammed my MC.

As you said, do what you want! But I personally wouldn't. It just looks like you're making your car into a wannabe S.

There are loads of different side repeater grilles available without having to get S ones!

Whilst some would say it is sacrilege, I think your "justification" should prove enough! Go for it! It's not like you are putting a scoop in your bonnet.......(you're not are you????)

No, no bonnet scoop , I did, however, replace my MC side skirts with the "S" ones after one of the MC ones was damaged in a parking lot incident. I think they look better.

Side skirts = ok as yes they look better and suit the MINI more IMO
Cooper S door sills = nooooo
