Sad to say, but on Friday I gave up Mini ownership. It was a decision that came hard and was not entirely through choice.
My Cooper S Works 'GT' is now the proud possesion of a young man called Peter from Scotland, who flew down to Southampton airport on Friday night to take possesion of my pride and joy. I hope he has many miles of fun in what must be one of the nicest cars on the road.
I suppose this will mean my opinions will be aired rather less on here and other Mini sites, to the relief of some no doubt (My opinions, never humble!)
i'd like to thank the friends and aquaintances on Mini2, with a special thanks to Mr Mullett for all his hard work keeping us together.
No doubt I'll stick my 'non-Mini owning big nose' in occasionally. Its been such a blast, 4 years of Mini ownership have flown by. I've especially enjoyed the track day scene with Mini, which isn't nearly as scary as people think (although can be expensive

).... the car is so well sorted it really doesnt do any harm to drive the car near its limit in this way, and I would still argue its safer than most organised Mini runs....
Thanks for all the discussions, arguements, near fights, advise, kind words and memories.
Special thanks, to those who helped, even in the smallest ways, in the dark days after my father so suddenly passed away last year. You helped with the shock and pain, and it genuinly brings tears to my eyes right now. Nothing prepares you for that phone call in the middle of the night.
Adios amigos. I'll be back one day for sure.
Tony
