DIY Paint Discolouration on my MINI!

I own a 2006 PW/MC and I went to wash it the other day and found that underneath the back wiper blade where I guess there was some dirt, it is discoloured (yellowish). The car was not dirty for long and I am a little ticked off that this has occured!

Has anyone else had this happen to their PW/MC?? If so is there anything that might take it off?

Thanks in advance!

Someone else posted about this a while ago.

I also have PW, and so far haven't experienced anything like this. I did get some small rust coloured spots, but they came off with some clay bar.

I hope you get it sorted soon!

hi there, i have a good friend with the same problem on the same colour ocmbination mini as yours. I took round meguiars quick detailing clay, and this removedthe majority of the colouration followed by a polish with NXT TEC Meguiars wax and this removed it all. hope this helps.

As already said try using a clay bar to get rid of the stain, if this doesn't work then you may well need to use a chemical paint cleaner or light abrasive polish to totally remove it.

Once it has been removed it would be a good idea to apply a coat of wax protection. (NXT is a good one to go for)

The Maguiars range includes all of the products mentioned - i hope this helps

I have the same on my white vinyl stripe. I understood it be grease from lubricating the wiper cog. It is reducing and I guess the grease will eventually stop running out.

Just have to keep at it with the washing and waxing.
