Offline | Lovin My JCW GP Ed. Hi folks, just found this forum through Google! Nice site. Just thought I'd say how much I've been lovin my GP MINI for the past 3 months. Damn it's fast and comfortable. Some back seat would have been nice. Hope you're all liking your MINIs and minis. Cheers, Al. |

Offline | Oh yeah; You know its a well known fact that the first GP to be delivered in the UK got given to that Chap at the motorshow (GP0002), Well looks like we've all been given wrong information seeing as you've been driving around in one for the last three months; by the way what number is it? It wouldn't be number -0001 by any chance would it??Enjoy............ |

Offline | It's number 17. From what I've been told cars have already been delivered but MINI wanted to 'launch' the car at the motorshow, and as such the 'first' car was haned over at the motor show. Compared to the standard Works I had this thing is mental! |

Offline | I'm sorry this isn't a friendly place to discuss my new car, I never thought for a second that I'd have to submit some kind of proof to people about the car I drive. Maybe I should have to produce my documents to you all? As for the troll commment, I can only decipher that this is derogatory, which is a shame. |

Offline | He's not a troll. As a ma8 of his that's a BIG Mini fan, he asked me to post. I've been in the car and it is, indeed, numbered no17. However, I still think it might be a pre production prototype rather than a full production car but he disagrees. There's a plaque on the dash with no 17, but no roof vinyl. It certainly rattles like a preproduction car anyway. |

| YLYP Reclamation Squad | Direct quote from BMW Infonet, only available to BMW dealer network, dated Monday 31 July 2006: "Paul Baker, the first UK MINI GP customer, collected the keys to his dream car from Mike Cooper. Mr Baker had registered his interest with local dealer, North Oxford Garage, when the first rumours of the fastest production MINI started to appear in January 2005; nine months before the car was officially announced. Mr Baker was the first person in the UK to place an order for the MINI Cooper S with John Cooper Works GP Kit and was rewarded with the second car: 0002. MINI GP 0001 is currently displayed at the British International Motor Show and will be returned to the MINI museum where all first production models are displayed. The remaining 458 MINI GPs in the UK will begin arriving at their new homes next week. 2000 have been built in total and the car is now sold out worldwide..." Seems odd that BMW would lie to the press, it's entire dealer network and all it's customers, don't you think? But hey, if you say you've been driving GP0017 since two months before it was built who are we to argue?? |
