My Car doesn't talk to me any more....whY ???

So I now have a superdoopercooper S Checkmate.

Really pleased with it, have a few "extras" on the way.............but i have noticed that un-like my last Cooper this ones doesnt "speak" to me..when i turn the wheel slightly at stand - where has the Mini noise gone ????????????
Am i being thick ????........but my Cooper (53 plate) certainly made that lovely power steeringy noise.
I miss it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was part of Mini.

The new units are just quieter than they used to be.

The engine whine drowns some of the noise out. Plus like Paul said the newer models were way more quiet than the 2002 and 2003 models....I could not believe the difference between my dealer demo and courtesy cars and both my 2003 Cooper and 2002 S.

This is the most unprofessional bit of site management I have seen since I was banned from a certain other site...at least they had the excuse that they were enthusiasts who had strong views and not professionals paid to keep thier cool!

Thats it then, shame i quite liked the noise.

Have put on raid air filter and unfortunatly not much more noise from that - so guess need an exhaust - I had a cooper works before with race exhaust and so i am used to my Mini sounding fab, quite dissapointed with the lack of noise i have from Cooper S.

Only i can fix that, now where is that accessories brochure ..................?

thanks guys.

I noticed that my MY05 car is much quieter overall than the an 03 cooper S i drove when looking for a MINI. Thats said - my car has much more pop, whizz and bang from the exhaust than the early cars. Not a bad tradeoff imo.

My April 2006 cabrio talks to me when I open the door. The boot (trunk) alarm squeaks a few times. But the steering is Soooooooooo quiet.
