Offline | Window Motor DIY Info Hey Guys, Quick post, I have a bad Driver side window motor. ![]() Just wanted to see if anyone has been able to change the Window Motor on either side. I am trying to do it myself. I am taking pictures and documenting stuff as I go to help others. But One slight problem. I want to be sure I do not run the risk of the window falling when I remove the motor. I want to post the instuctions and pics when I finish. Please any info will help. Thanks Agntlgn |

Offline | update OK well people I have the door in its guts. I have found this blueprint I think this will help in finding out how to do this window motor swap. I am finding out that the window motor is attached to something else. If you look at the blueprint it shows a regulator of some sort. I have the motor unbloted now but it is still attached to the regulator. I need to know if I need to lower the window or how do I remove the regulator from the window so that I can unblot the motor from the regulator. thanks |

Offline | From the Bentley manual Page 512-9: Slide in BMW special tool 00 9 310 or equivalent wedge to lift motor (B) off mounting plate (C). This keeps window regulator cable from flying apart. This is after they: 1) Remove the window glass. 2) Remove the entire regulator assembly from the car. So, it doesn't really look like a DIY job to me, but let us know if you succeed. |

Offline | Wow thans for that info. Wow, remove the glass huh? I should probably get that manual. lol Anyway I will try and figure out how to get it out of there. That would make sense. Thanks for the heads up. My Mini is out of warranty and dealer wants 300 for the window motor and install. |
