Offline | Swap 54plate MCS for new model Mini Cooper? I have a 54 plateMCS - absolutely fab condition and only done 10000 miles (full leather, chili pack, cisibility pack etc...) Do you think i would need to pay much difference to swap for a brand new mini cooper (the new model that is due out soon). I have not seen much on the prices of te new model and i'm sure some of you are mor informed than i am! I don't mind trading down to the cooper from the cooper s - but don't want to put in thousands of pounds! I would want a spec with at least the chili pack (or the equivalent on the new mini). Anyone have any thoughts?? Kind regards |

Offline | Have you driven a Cooper? I know some people would argue this, but to me there is a HUGE difference between the Cooper S and the Cooper. I started off with a Cooper, but Mr. Mister wrecked it so while it was being repaired he rented a convertible S for me. When I got my Cooper back from the bodyshop, we ended up driving straight to the dealer and traded it in for the S (took a beating on the trade-in, by the way). I was spoiled. I say stick with what you've got. |

Offline | It's unlikely you will get a great trade in as dealers don't seem to like taking still newish cars with low mileage against a new model, I might be wrong but when I traded in two Audi A3's at two years with very low mileage the dealer found it hard to put a trade in price on the car so inveriably gave me a low trade in There out to make a profit so don't bank on paying less than a few grand on the new car. If you can try and sell privately and then barter for discount on the new model (if you can) ![]() |

Offline | Cheers folks - Yeah - i'll stick with the mcs for a bit longer - was tempted by lower insurance and fuel/tax bill i guess - but having said that if i don't get a reasonable trade in then its pointless. I think i'll wait a couple of years - then go all out for another cooper S! |
