I've been lookin at changing from my 02 MC to an 03 MCS and I've seen one at a good price but with 57000 miles on the clock.
So I'm just wondering what experiences or opinions there are from any S owners who have racked up the miles regarding reliability and running costs. I'd be most worried about having to replace a clutch.
The car has a Mini2.com sticker in the back window! I reckon I know who the owner was and I've PM'd him to see if he is willing to talk about the car's history and his driving style which might give me more confidence in making the switch.
I'm waiting to see if he replies to my PM first - I'd understand if he didn't want to discuss it. Of course if he doesn't reply then I might start digging a bit further.
Don't think ot will sit around for long at the asking price.
I know it isn't a sensible decision and I haven't really fully decided to do it yet. If this one hadn't showed up at the price its at then I wouldn't have considered a change. We'll see how I feel in the morning..........
I'm happy with the Cooper to be honest - have just been exploring options on tuning it up a bit. Then I saw a bargain on Autotrader and had to have a wee look........and a drive......
I'm slowly but surely talking myself out of it though. Maybe next year....
I have a '52 plate MCS, with about 46K on it, 13K when I bought it about 18months ago, no mileage related problems yet, not clutch failures (crossed fingers)
The only possible issues I can see is the servicing costs, I just got the TCL XL, so dont have to worry for a little while yet, and the way its been driven, but you get that on any car
