Hi there
just back from my trip to france and just spent 1/2 an hour trying to get the stickers off the lights . someone mentioned they thought you may be able to alter xeon headlights for abroad, any one else know how to do that?

Baby wipes worked a treat to get mine off

took 2 minutes. Would also love to know how to change the zenons though...

There is a thread about changint the Xenons. It appears that there is a simple lever on their tops which just clicks over. Somewhere on this site are pix showing you how to do it.

in post facelift cars you flip the back off the lights, look through from the back to the front and you'll see a small metal lever.

using a pen you should be able to switch the position of the lever. do it carefully and don't do it with the lights switched on obviously.

And don't forgot to switch them back again, unlike myself who has just remembered that I've been driving around in the UK with my lights pointing the wrong way 13 months after I got back from Italy

reviving the old thread as I cannot find the mentioned thread with pictures after much searching. Can someone tell me if its is possible to switch the xeons to drive on the continent and how to do it?

OK, so I'm off to France on Saturday and I tried the suggestion in the linked post above last night.

The problem is the R55 xeons don't look like that

There's no lever to move up and down. There is one white plastic lever in a similar place, so I played with that, but it didn't seem to have any effect.

Anyone know how to do this on an R55?

I can confirm that the levers do exist on the R56 xenons, but have had a look in R53 xenons and found no such lever - even with the aid of a mirror!

Levers only exist on face lift xenons for the R53

With regards to the sticker removal - surgical spirit!. Use it to remove the stuff every time we come back from abroad.

Sorry don't know if the r56/r55 can be converted, if you can post a pic up of the back of the light I will look at it and see if it's similar to our lights
