United-Kingdom Helloooo

Hi

I have been lurking for a while but this is my first post!

I am hoping to get a one/cooper automatic within the next few months and wondered if any of you had driving opinions ( i will be arranging a test drive soon!) I have always driven automatics and my last ownership of a cvt was a Volvo 340 that was driven by elastic bands i am sure they have improved since then!

Many thanks for any answers that come my way.

To whoever it may concern this is a very informative website and has certainly fuelled my interest.

I would also appreciate any information on local dealers to me in Hampshire(UK).

Ta!

Hi
welcome to MINI2

Automatic might be a bit sluggish in ONE or Cooper. But depends on what you are after in the car.

My MINI came from Barons of Farnborough.

Dear Silver, welcome to the world of MINI. You'll certainly notice a difference in handling between the Volvo 340 and the MINI. But if you want heated seats, you'll have to order them! I can recommend Snows of Portsmouth in Hampshire, I've only had my car serviced there (I purchased it elsewhere) but they've been friendly and competent.

Nemed, 12,000 miles - I'm assuming from the front tyres - which is fairly normal. I only have the standard cooper model, my first set of fronts lasted 10,500 miles, the second about 14,000 miles, and I'm still on third set. The first rear set lasted 35,000 miles. Its the only real downside of MINI ownership, along with having to drive other cars from time to time!

Nemed, it's probably best if you post your question in the Wheels, Tyres, Suspension and Brakes forum on here. You should get responses from those with the same car and tyre. I've been equipped with Dunlop Sport 3000 runflats from day one. I've always stuck with the same tyre, but I know most prefer to switch to other tyres for better grip, longitevity and lower costs, as runflats are expensive.
