Awesome

we went to the north circle once to see the aurora, but drank too much vodka and missed it!

Your pics make me really wish we'd been more disciplined!

Cheers

S

Lovely pix!. When I as a radio amateur (Ham radio) we used to bounce adio signals off the aurora curtain in order to reach far away places. Aurora never ceases to amaze me, especially when there is no sound to it!

Nice photos

We had a holiday in Iceland last October and saw an amazing aurora through our hotel room window in Reykjavik.

This photo was taken with the camera propped up on some books on the window sill.

We were surprised at the scale of it - it stretched from way behind us, over the mountains in the distance (sillouetted in the background of the picture) and beyond.

Wish I had my tripod with me at the time

wow, they look fantastic.

I know from doing photoshoots of sunsets and stuff like that, that you have to have a lot of patience to get good shots like that.
And it shows.

excellent pictures

I'd hoped to see them when we were in Lapland last year but it was cloudy all the time - snowing though

Just a little I stayed for almost 2 hours, the hardest part is exposing the pictures for 30 seconds each, for some people that could get really boring I guess. Getting the focus and composition right is a little hard as well in the dark.

OMG that's amazing. I've never seen aurora borealis and it's just amazing. Gives me goose bumps just looking at it.
