40 years since mini won bathurst

Nice little article about the 40th anniversary of Mini's top 9 finish at one of Australia's most famous races (That's 9 mini's in the top 10!!)

The man who won that race, Bob Holden, is still racing. Way to go man.

It is a great story, Bathurst is "The Big Race" in Australia.

i never knew that before. i've seen the bathurst on telly a couple of times & its an amazing race. they haven't covered it over here for years though

I;m actually luckly enough to be selected for the Parade lap for the Bathurst event, in my old 1967 Cooper S, ausmini :: View topic - Bathurst 2006. No complaints here If you don't want to go!!!

When we did the East Coast Targa rally in 2005 Bob Holden was also competing

He is wonderful ambassador for motorsport, and minis in particular He was very interested in our new minis, and very friendly and happy to chat for hours. He even gave us an open invitation to drop into his place and look at memorabilia if we were ever passing by
