Sorry to hear that things might have to come to this ![]() Sell it privately to get the most dosh. With regards to a second hand "fun" car, how about a Ford Fiesta??? It's always been given good reviews and been a Ford it will be cheap to run. Only thing against it are its rather dull looks. Maybe even a Ka is a good idea, you can pick up a brand new one for around £6k MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime ![]() ![]() Unofficial MINI2.com bean counter

Without a doubt you will get more selling it privately. It is a lot of hassle though and waiting. If I were you, I would go to your three nearest dealers and ask them to value the car as a straight buy in. They will offer strong money due to current demand. They should also offer you a price that will remain the same for the remainder of the month. In the trade we work on a monthly basis so if you took the car to them today, the price would be held until the end of August. Be aware though, that the 52 plates come out in three weeks. This does have a small effect on the price. Not huge on the MINI but probably a couple of hundred pounds due to the psychological point that the car looks older. Anyway, get a price from teh dealers now and advertise it privately for a grand more than they offer you. The dealer is unlikely to sell it for more than a grand above what they paid for it (unless it needs a lot of work). Good luck. p.s. Scotthall Cambridge are desperate for used MINIs. 01223 833110 ask for Shanie - mention my name. Sold MINI, Bought Volvo V40 TD. I Feel Dirty!

Re: Sale? Which cheap car? Sounds just like a little car I know 3 people on MINI2 (not including myself) are strongly considering getting them, can we all be wrong? (points at signature) PM me if you want any details. mine is a Jan 02 car ex-demo with 5500 miles bought from Smart Manchester for £6600, group 2 insurance, currently averaging 52-54mpg, cruises on the motorway at 85mph all day and is great fun to drive (feels surprisingly quick).UPDATE: There are 4 MINI2 members that I know are considering Smarts. Currently driving: Silver Volkswagen Lupo GTi, 6 speed, 125bhp Last edited by cmt; Aug 8th, 2002 at 09:26 AM.

I've decided to wait to make my decision until I get Guzzle back from the garage. I walked out of Starbucks today and it was a sunny day and I just wanted to drive her again and all thoughts of selling drained away. Its silly to try to make this kind of decision until I get her back. I could afford to run her, but it wouldn't be the wisest choice financially. I'm just going to have to see how I feel in a couple of weeks time. Should get her back in 2 weeks time now. ![]() Cheers for all your advice, its definitely helped. I've got more of an idea for my choices now, which makes it much easier. ![]() Cheers, Phil PS Sorry Minty, as you can see I've been away from MINI2 a lot recently - too many worries, feeling ill etc!!! Spanky2k Officially the worst MINI driver in the Universe!!!
