An article in the WSJ indicated that our beloved Mini is expected to hold its value best among compact cars. It is expected to retain 61% of its value after 3 years. They mentioned that part of the equation are as follows: demand, how many are sold to rental cars & fleet company, actual purchase price as in below/at/above MSRP, discounts/rebates/incentive offered at time of purchase, etc... yada, yada...

Other cars mentioned having high residual values are:
 Midsize: VW Passat = 52%
 Sport: Porche 911 = 55%
 Near Luxury: BMW 3s = 53%
 Luxury: MBenz CLK = 60%
 Minivan: Honda Odyssey = 56%

Our Mini is pretty impressive at 61%. Wowie!!!
