United-Kingdom Reversing light bulb

Does anyone know how to change the bulb for the reversing light on a 2002 mini cooper? - or just how to remove the cover.

I cant for the life of me see how to remove the plastic cover to get to the bulb ??

Can I buy the bulb from any motor store ??

On another note - would the failure of this light make my mini fail its MOT ??

Thanks to you all

Ian

you have to push it from the back to pop the unit out of the bumper or just get on the floor and turn the connection to remove just the bulb holder

I was trying to replace the bulb on my cooper this weekend...I couldn't get the bloody thing out either!!

You have to undo the three screws that secure the spare wheel cover and pull it down to access the light. The light unit has clips on the side that you have to press in. Then it's supposed to pop out of the bumper...but mine didn't.

I must admit to not trying to hard as it was freezing out!!

Also looked at replacing my mirror covers but looking was as far as I got...

i couldnt get to it on my cooper s, the exuast is in the way.

in the end i leavered it out of the bumper, came out and went back in very easily.

(PS put an LED replacement bulb in if your changing it, looks much better and is ALOT brighter!!)

sorry i dont. the reason being is that i ordered the incorrect bulbs for some other areas of the car. this bulb wasnt the "correct" one for the reverse light but it went it and all i had to do is change the poliarity to make it work (leds only work in one polarity)

If you find out which type of bulb the reverse light takes it will be easy to find a replacement. If you cant let me know and ill have a look for you
