Hmm... the 'design your own mini' configurator has been offline for some time today... I wonder if they're updating it for the R56s?

I've been trying to use the configurator for a couple of weeks now, and it's never been up.

Let's hope so...

If it lets me spec LSD on there then I'm going to have to get on the phone to my dealer pretty sharpish and amend my order.

Anyone know what the cut-off point is in terms of spec changes for the R56s? I have heard rumours of anything up to a week before build elsewhere on mini2.com, but I think these are unconfirmed...

The implication from the BMW press release for the official opening of the R56 line at Cowley, sorry, Plant Oxford, certainly seems to suggest a tweaking window right up to one week before build. Viz:

Not up on my PC. Can link back to old car configurator via international site via bookmark but new site gives you the BMW offline for maintenance come back later.

Surely the system must be nearly ready - just hope it has all the options to 'play' about with whilst we have an opportunity to check and modify if required, particularly on the wheel front. Or is it a cunning plan to stop us changing specs?

The configurator itself will be worked on and improved and standardised in Europe, whether that includes an R56 update at the same time I don't know but if I were the IT Manager I'd want the changes done first before the R56 additions
