Yellow Cooper Newest Family Member

I've been driving my 2003 Cooper S (W/LY, better brakes & LOTS of miles and miles and miles...) happily for over 4 years now, no significant complaints or problems.

Over 119,000 US miles on the odo.

Wife in the market for a convertible since summer, tired of her '97 Saturn SW2 (47,000 miles; NOTHING like me!!) complained of the seat comfort in my MINI when it arrived.

Never thought I'd hear her say "Well i bought a MINI Convertible today!" but that's just what she did a week ago!! It looks like it just shipped out too, as of today.

Soon there'll be 2 MINI's in our driveway. Go figure!!

Yellow Cooper

Pics from where we've motored together or pics of what my S looks like today?

Other than some road dust (it snowed in Chicago this morning) it looks the same as the day I took delivery on 10/7/02! Few paint dings up near the grille but otherwise in fine shape.

Pics'll come once our New Arrival get's to our doorstep, rest assured. Two's company, after all!

Where did you (or your wife) get your car(s). I'm in the Northern Burbs - close to Knauz...and they are a bit tough to deal with...

Yellow Cooper One Out of 3 is OK in My Book

No kidding.

I guess we're fortunate to have 3 MINI dealers in Chicagoland, even if 2 are in some ways disappointing.

When MINI was first introduced, I was very disappointed by how A Dealer Who Shall Go Unnamed was behaving behind their "protected territory" and waiting list malarky. I did drive a Cooper there but only 'cause they had one for demos and it was on the way home from work....

I drove an S at Knauz, but was put off by their airs, and the line they were spewing about an 18 to 24 month wait list.... (Back in 1967 I drove a Lotus Elan S2 there one fine Saturday & came away entranced though unable to afford the $4,226 list for one of my own.)

Bill Jacobs MINI, OTOH, has been a pleasure to deal with on all accounts ever since. I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone there, for anything.

That's where she went last week, and she came home very happy indeed.

Thanks. I'm "converting" from a lexus to a mini. I'm close to the above named dealer...but they are REALLY hard communicate with. Even though Naperville is quite a distance, I'll write them and see how I can work it out.

Looking forward to your pics...

After a decent interval ...

... my "03 S finally has a companionable mate to share our driveway with.

Susanne picked up her new MINI S soft top yesterday, just in time for it to get covered in frost on its first night at home.

There's also a pic of the odo in my S as I left for work this morning.
