Scotland cooper s jcw or other tuning companies

hi thinking about a cooper s and would really like a jcw tuned one, if i cant get a jcw are standard coopers s tuned by lohan bbr gt tuning etc as good as a jcw. im aware any modifying invalidates the warranty
was wondering if there were many people ut there with tuned cooper s and what they think of them
cheers gareth

An old debate

Gareth,

as you rightly assume, many people have chosen tuning paths that deviate from the JCW. A search on the engine and performance thread will reveal many musings as to which tuning package is better..................but ultimately it all comes down to personal preference and budget.

I run a GTT tuned car and am very happy, friends of mine run JCW cars are also happy whilst others run Lohen/BBR/Hartge/AMD etc and are also happy.

So you pays your money and you takes your choice - personally I'd go GTT every time for value, quality and service.

With the JCW you pay for piece of mind with the warranty and ease if anything goes wrong as you can take your car to any MINI dealer to sort under warranty.

Non JCW Tuners may give you more bang for your buck, or if your prefer more bhp for your £££ but then you have the worry if anything brakes on you if its covered under warranty, and whether the tuner will cover it, which may mean a visit to a tuner on the other side of the country.

You makes your bed and you sleep in it I know which way I went and no regrets so far, but then again I haven't pulley'd it yet (major source or powere upgrade on an S)
