I think the new Works will be a new model, made in the factory.

Remember this news report?

http://www.mini2.com/article344-excl...-cooper-s.html

I guess if its a product of a MINI 'Motorsport' division similiar to the 'M' division, it might be quite an attractive proposition?

M cars ain't half bad remember

then it'd just an M mini, no Cooper heritage behind, which in my opinion is most of the reason behind people buying works conversions

I agree, it's just becoming a mass produced model and won't have that personalised feeling anymore. No doubt they will do away with tuning kit numbers and certificates as well.

Just another reason why I'm hesitant of the new new MINI... shame about JCG, and glad I got my JCW Kit for my Cooper.

Don't think many MINI/Mini enthusiasts will be to pleased with a Cooper-M...

Jeez

Sad news.

Likewise if 6 months down the line I want to upgrade my S to a Works, where do I stand?

I suspect that BMW will still fit the Works kits, but I could be wrong...

well this is a sad day and a huge loss to the Mini world. BUT its their fault. the day the kit was available through bmw i knew this would happen. they should have said no.. publicity doesnt get you along way when in the end of the day you need a product to back it up. the JCW was their product.. but they gave it up. I heard Mr. Cooper will be in the US with the GP release? my point.

sad day. once i paid them a visit and they seemed a really cool bunch. hopefully they will find a way to stay in the biz so we can all continue to enjoy their service.

Just realised that's my plans up the spout for getting the Cooper 90bhp conversion done on my classic - blast!

Not quite as bad for new MINIs but it's not good, not good at all!

Is it just the Dealership or everything?

I thought that the works kits were doing so well they had moved into bigger premises to meet demand. Were they not manufacturing all the JCW parts for Mini? I cannot understand this.

With 2 grand in my pocket - not got that until later this year!

Hopefully one of the specialist classic Mini companies will buy up stock but there's nothing like getting it done at East Preston itself.

Oh well, at least I can get JCW mods on my MINI...
