The word from the Cooper Car Company (that's how they answered the phone) is that the website should be back up on Monday as it was originally. No new stuff.

The reason the holding page is as it is and not updated, is that the systems have not been installed yet to enable them to update any information on the site and they wont be in place until the middle of next week at the earliest.

The website is back up and running, but covers merely sales unfortunatly. All engine tuning work redirects to Mini.com etc. Parts are for sale only, not for fitting by the look of things.....

Apparantly BMW have now bought the rights for the name too.

Tony is superb. There is not really much to look at, well nothing afaik

BMW do not take over JCW tell next year. The garage as far as i am aware is still clossed

The JCW garage is indeed closed

But MiniMotorsport in Shoreham is definately open for business

But the guy that runs MiniMotorsport used to work for JCW and is called Tony an I have been there 3 or 4 times

hmm should know really seeing as he's done a bit for me but no idea tbh!!

Very reasonable though i can assure you and quite often has challenge cars there which i dribble over

wicked love MINI challenge cars, i emailed him a long time ago about fitting something but his price for labour came out more than BMW. Which shocked me, but will have to enquire more on this as he may have missunderstood me.

his garage is only 5 mins from where i live, tony gave me some of his business card to hand out to anyone who is intrested, and i still have a few left, will give you one when i next see you.

as for the price, my flat mate have his cooper work check and got some work done by him last month, and as an old JCG customer, he did that for free

(for the first time only of cos)
but we expect he will charge something similar to what JCG used to charge.

I think it's a great shame about the BMW 'takeover'.

I presume the new 'works' will be nothing more than a MINI M series when it arrives.

I am sure it will be a great car but not a JCW in the true sense. I am sure it won't matter to the majority of buyers and I am just a nostalgic old f**t.

It does matter to me though.
