are minis hard to sell?

my car has been up for sale for a few weeks now, i have had a sniff of here, sniff of pistonheads and 3 calls from the autotrader. the reason i bought one of these cars was i thought come the time of my ban i would have no problems selling it. i did have the car up for a unrealistic price to start but think its priced to sell now, obviously i will come down a little more but its not silly money especially with the condition, spec and miles. the car is all paid for and I'm in no hurry but i did think id have more calls, has anyone else had problems selling?

I know at the mo and for the past 6months they ahs been a big hype for minis more than ever, it all depends on the age of the car, millage, spec, and the price you are selling at?

What is the age, milage, spec, etc if ya dont mind me asking, and what price r u asking for it.

(How come ur selling, I see you mention a ban?)

Phil, looking at them on Ebay on a regular basis and very few ever reach the reserve prices. See some of them on multiple times. there are quite a few on sale so maybe
reason why , also at that price some people would prefer to pay extra to dealer to get
the warranty.

The major factor I have noticed with people trying to sell their MINI privately is that they are up against the fact that most buyers need to both sell/part exchange their current car, and then finance the balance.

As private sellers can offer neither of these services the majority of MINIs simply end up back in the dealer network!

Have you approached any dealers about buying it?

Thats a nice MINI and a fair price too.

I think maybe you have got to just hold in, in ther for the sale, cos they are a fair few minis up for sale at the mo, cos I think now is the best time to sell because of the hype in the market.

Have you listed it on Ebay?

Preston is alright I guess, I have only ventured upto Newcastle once & love it!!!!

PS That is a very nice car you have Phil , unfortunatley I only have eyes for a new model S @ the moment!! I am very suprised @ the lack of interest considering the spec & low mileage!!

Best of luck pal.

Wrea Green? I'm not too familiar with that place, might have to try & check it out though if the lady you mentioned was a bit of a looker!!

have not tried the ebay route yet, im going to give it a few more weeks then may give that a go to, its frustrating because it is like a brand new car, and i dont want to give it away.

It's a lovely little village, signposted off the main road from Preston into Blackpool.

Way back in 1992 when she was all of 16 she was gorgeous - natural blonde and a cracking figure - but hey, a lot can change in 14 years!

But anyway, I probably shouldn't be bringing back these sort of memories, and certainly shouldn't be hijacking Phil's thread!

(Sorry Phil)

J0nesy ...

If you're going for a new MCS and trading yours in then read this thread, makes a lot of sense. The dealers discussed are close to you as well.
