Have you ever had any comments about your car from complete strangers?

I had to chuckle today!

Just parked up, and a car pulls in beside me, 3 people get out of it (a man his wife and his son?).
After buying their ticket they are stood around the back of their car looking, and then i hear "oh look its got a union jack on the roof" "yeah, its good isnt it".
They seemed to wait till i got out and then said "we were just admiring your little car" "did you have that (points at roof) put on afterwards, or did you buy it like that"
I explained i had it put on when i bought the car to which i got "yeah its very good that, very nice"!

Postman up in belfast said "its really nice compared to all the standard minis you see about." And wee kid said other did "I like your mini mister!"

That GP thingy of yours costs 40 grand doesnt it, you could have an M3 for that!

i had stopped at trafic lights and a motorbike pulled up beside me with 2 blokes on it.
guy on the back says 'nice mini mate' and i was like 'yeah thanks'

Admiring glances and compliments surprisingly mostly from the Ferrari, Porsche and Aston type of owner!

Largely ignored by other Mini owners

But not generally by other types???

So I wonder what the problem is with other Mini owners?

Posh lady and her friend walks past pointing to my car 'what a lovely lustricious colour' yes its very nice replied the other one. Parked up in supermarket two old grannies admiring my MINI, one said 'what a lovely little MINI you have there'

Parked up in manchester a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday evening. Came back to my car to find a woman and her friend practically wetting themselves over my car. I saw them while walking back to my car and wondered whether to approach or walk past and come back when they'd finished walking round it but I walked up sheepishly. One lady said 'Is this your car?' to which I replied yes with smug smile. She then went on to say 'It's absolutely fantastic, such a beautiful car. I have a mini but yours is amazing'. Needless to say it made my day

Don't know. In the crappy town I live in other MINI drivers definitely take notice. Mostly it's a look or a subtle gesture of acknowledgement. Occasionally you get a thumbs up or "nice car" from them.

Quite often I'll be driving along and kids in the back seats of other cars will point and wave.
Used to get flashed\waved at by other MINIs, not anymore.

Got a thumbs up from a chav walking down the road once when driving past. Was a bit confused if thats a good thing or a bad thing really.

When I first bought my MINI 3 years ago I parked in Gunwharf car pack and returned to my car to find it surrounded by 6 people. I unlocked it from far away just to see their reactions and they said they loved the car and were just admiring it!

i know someone that has a Black MINI, it has quite dark tints on it all round (which cant be legal!). they were stopped by a policewoman, who got out and said ' i love your car, i wish i could afford one'

Haven't had my mini long but i've had plenty of nice remarks!! It's mostly kids in cars, faces pressed up against the windows smiling and waving!! And it's the drivers of the Porsches etc that do take the most notice, good taste I guess eh!!!

was also driving along and these two young lads my age in a modified old pug, the driver stuck his head right out of the car looking at chilli!

People always look and comment on my mini. Usually they point out to their mates that it is the "new" mini. I have a age-less number plate which may make my mini standout a little more and people seem to love the colour (electric blue). Guess it is a little different to all the silver, blacks and blues.

I had an elderly gentleman in a bentley talk to me about how he had owned the original morris mini cooper s back in the 1960's! I was at the petrol station, checking my oil level(as you do on a sunday)! and he was amazed to see how much engine is packed under the bonnet.

I was driving my classic mini cooper through central london last saturday evening and i stopped at the traffic lights and i was surrounded by japanese and spanish tourists who all started to take pictures! Now thats never happened in my "new" mini cooper s!!!!
