Offline | Ah .. This looks like a pretty good forum. In that I wasn't able to attend your event at the factory (the trip would have been a bit tedious) I thought I'd ask to see some more of your fine photos. Did any of you by any chance get pictures of a nightfire red Mini? If so, I'd certainly appreciate seeing them. Also, Hat, you posted a picture showing the wood inset interior in the background of one of your photos. It really looks good from what I can see. Did you notice whether it matched, or not, the wood inlay steering wheel? I'd very much appreciate seeing photos that showed more of one or both of these features. We won't be receiving the Mini here in the U.S until February. My Mini salesman has been trying to sell me a 2006 model. I'd love to get one right now but from what I've read the 2007 is very much worth waiting for. But, being of the impatient sort, chances are good I'll put in my order without ever having seen one. The on-line configurator is good but it's hard to know if one can trust the color renditions. Does, for instance, the nightfire red have any kind of a blue cast to it? Some people like it that way - I don't. If the color is indeed exactly like that shown on the miniusa configurator, that's the color I'll select. Also, my plan was to not select the wood inlay, but Hat's photo made me think twice about that. Again, I'd love to see more photos, but, after reading your comments so far (I've developed trust), I'd also like to hear what you folks might have to say about my potential color and inlay selections. Any other comments about what you were able to see right there in person would also be appreciated. P.S. I'd have never considered the Mini but a friend said I should at least look and to definitely drive one. I did. I drove it up on the local mountain twisties. Wow! I'm now a true believer. |

Offline | Ken, Welcome to the group. You'll find a lot of good people here with all sorts of information. For some reason, the U.S. configurator is currently horrible at showing proper depictions of the new 2007 models. You'll do better to go to the U.K. site at http://www.mini.co.uk/UK/index.htm. Hopefully, they'll get the U.S. site tweaked. It was just updated last week to include the new models, so they may not have gotten the bugs worked out yet. I have a deposit down with a dealer in Portland and hope to be able to order my new car in the next couple of weeks. Again, welcome. |

Offline | On the VIP trip, unlike press events, no photographs were allowed inside the main plant, so no shots of nightfire red etc. that were seen going down the line that day. Apologies for that. |

| Black and Blue all over.. | I enjoyed the day... It was a shame about the lack of pic taking opportunites... Just seen the pic above... I'm second on the left... Shame the S couldn't be started... A great experience that anyone should take given the opportunity... |
