Mini : Mini Cooper S Works GP No.53

Remember The Episode the lurvely VBH raced an R/C car in a GP and they gave it away as a competition prize. Looks like it!

Wish they put a disclaimer on the competition... "winner must run car for a minimum of 12 months and vow to always drive it like they'd just been granted eternal life!"

On TV - Fifth Gear

I'm not sure if the person did win it in the fifth gear competition. The number plate is totally different???

True, cant see the roof number on the clip on You tube, anyone know? Come to think of it I have a feeling the car on fifth gear was number 73!

I thought the 5th gear car was number 0179, a popular media car use dby most magazines.....

I emailed 5th gear about the competition, they said that the winner had ben notified and that it would appear in a future episode, however they refused to release any details about the winner at the time due to 'privacy reasons'..... (pretty weak in my view, most competition winners have to accept some publicity info being released in order to promote the competition....)

Yeah, can you imagine how much money 5th gear made from that competition. With each phone call, they receive something like 1.50. I bet they get enough to pay for the next weeks competition car as well.

The car Fifth Gear use on the show isn't usually the one they give away.

One is usually a press car (which once they've finished with it is passed on to another TV company, magazine, journo or whatever) and the other is one which they've scrounged from the manufacturer as a give-away. They're usually not even the same colour.

Would have been 1.50 well spent if I'd won though

It s a bit like the supercars at airports, they sell 3000 tickets at £80 each for a 150 grangdcar, 90 grand profit, not too shabby.....80 quid for a 150k car, also none too bad.

i won my mini and well 3 and a half years later i still have it had a chioce of an easy time at uni or keep the mini needless to say if your given the car you whant you dam well keep it i did
