| MINI2 Newbie | 2 questions? handling & performance hi everybody I have a 2005 mcs convertible, so far i have lowered it using kw springs fitted a miltek cat back exhaust and bmc induction kit. I have two questions 1) what can i buy or do to make it handle better? i.e front rear strut braces etc 2) what poweer mod should i do next? im thinking a) 15% reduced pulley b) Janspeed manifold & de-cat pipe what do you think, and / or which will i be most likely to notice thanks graham ![]() |

| The Power Cube | This is a must in a convertable !!!!! Some are better than others. You also have upper and lower. i.e across the front suspension top mounts, and underneath the car. Cheers, K. ![]() Too many mods to list, PM me if the cat needs killing... |

| Danger!Moddings addictive | Like K said id get the braces from GT Tuning and probably order a GTT Induction at the same time. Makes the car sound amazing compared to stock also gives better MPG and some power gains. It all depends how much you wanna spend really. ![]() Nearly fully loaded DS/B MCS GTT |

Offline | Upper and Lower front strutbraces Thicker rear anti roll bar Consider a rear strutbrace (I am not sure these can be bought for the MCSC yet??!) Once these are done then there not too much you can do appart from removing runflats and changing for decent tyres/changing for lighter smaller and wider wheels. Possibly consider a 5mm spacer on the 2 fronts to dial out a fraction of understeer. Anything above 5mm each side will put too much stress on the bearings if running stock rims...but with lighter rims then you might get away with bigger spacers to dial out more understeer. I'd check this with a decent tuner though as i am not a big expert. |

Offline | Pulley is the best performance mod when considering bang for buck. Don't go above 15% as this is what JCW is (well 14.5ish). You could always go for a lighter bigger crank pulley to add something more too. A 1-2% one would add a bit more. Then a manifold with sports cat and bigger injectors (JCW, which i think are the same as the GP ones) and then a replacment head. |
