Offline | Tires or tyres as you prefer I noticed Paul's test mini was fitted with the regular suspension and 16" wheels. I was planning to purchase a Cooper S here in the States which comes with the regular suspension and 16" wheels. Was wondering what tires are fitted on the test car? Here we have a choice of Performance, run flat or all-season tires. Which would be best? During the winter we get a mix of ice and snow and I was wondering if the Mini could handle this, fitted with the all-season tires or am I better off with four dedicated snows on their own wheels. If I do this, which of the remaining two types to choose. Performance or run flat? Will the run-flats have a much harder ride than the performance type? Decisions, decisions... Thanks for any input. jon ![]() |

Offline | Pauls car has the standard 16" wheels which means it will have runflats. Runflats have a mixed following, but the latest car has been setup to work with the tyres. BMW have worked this successfully recently in the latest generation 3-series and the Z4 M Coupe, so it will be interesting to see what people make of the new setup... |

Offline | Paul, having now tried both the standard supension and the sports suspension which do you prefer? I want as smooth a ride as possible without sacrificing handling. I placed my order today with standard suspension, but I'm still undecided. |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | Paul, another question about the rear wiper. The one thing I've always wanted is to have the option to have the rear wiper on permanently as well as intermittant. You will appreciate that there is little point to it being interrmittant when doing 60 or 70 in heavy rain as the rear window is wet again as soon as it stops wiping. So can you do this with the R56? ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |
