MINI Cooper S For Review 23rd November, please post questions here.

I'm due a MINI Cooper S for review, for a week, arriving 23rd November. I do not have full spec details, but it will be a non-sports suspension version (at last).

Thought I'd start this thread so if anyone has any questions they'd like me to answer I'll do my best. Obviously other lucky owners can help out here too if they already have their cars, but otherwise feel free to fire away with the questions.

Standard S-Winders.

I've asked for a non-sports version, and I've got a very basic model really, which will be nice to try compared to the high spec cars I've driven up until now.

Sounds similar to the launch spec that the dealers round here have.....

It'll be interesting to see how the interior and seat mechanisms hold up to a week of family use...

I'm just interested to see if you notice any difference with the softer suspension. I hope you will say it gives a smoother ride but with no loss of handling. Let me know. Cheers.

It's a shame my own order has been delayed (been built 8 days now), otherwise I could compare like for like next to each other (in terms of suspension).

You could beat Euro NCAP to it and drive it into a wall at 40

Would be interesting to see if you think its a five star car or not

Certainly be watching that, and comparing to my regular 28 to 31 from a Cooper S!

There's been a lot of talk/ idle speculation about turbo lag - would be very interested in that..

.. also intrigued on real world mpg!

Done a lot of miles already abroad and not had an issue with lag. Feels more eager to go than the current S that can feel bogged down.

First report will go online late tonight, but unless something dramatic happens MPG is pretty shocking at the mo!

We had the S on Saturday down at 18mpg for the duration of our test drive anyway, without the Sport button on

Hmmm the MPG is lower than expected. Have you been driving it like a press car though?
