Still reckon it needs the nav to fill it up a bit though.....

The interior is better than the old car for sure.

There is too much info crammed in that big speedo.

In the mk1 you looked up to see the clock, to the radio to see the radio/CD info and to the speedo/rev counter to see other relevant info.

Now everything is crammed in one place - not to mention the small radio controls...

A step backwards IMO!

yet you had a water guage as well as your petrol guage, still had a digital display and also the lights... pretty much what we have in the R56 :]

I've also just noticed the front indicator is in the light.

It also shows how little difference there is to the exterior of the car. Unless you really know your MINI's you would struggle to notice the changes

Thanks for the photos.

The new new mini speedo is just so BIG and ugly;

Those squashed side windows look ridiculous.

i think im still in love with the r53 and i might just have to get it next month... =) though the r56 looks like it has more engine room.

they haven't raised the car that much, they raised the base of the window line cos of the extra height in the bonnet.

I do like the new interior though on the whole. Just not sure about those centre controls?
