So what are you doing in Tsukuba? Is that a university town?

I was thinking of visiting Japan sometime in the next year or so. I have friends who live near Kobe. So a bit of a distance from you.

Unfortunately, I am without a MINI. I went through a divorce at the beginning of the year and I wasn't sure if I was going to stay in Japan. The situation has changed and now I will be back on the market for a MINI early next year. I live in Tsukuba (big University here and many Laboratories...Tsukuba Science City as they call it). I am a teacher in Tokyo.

Kobe is pretty far from here. After I get a new car, I plan on doing many road trips around Japan (mainly to the major Circuits...Suzuka, Twin Ring Motegi, Fuji Speedway, etc.).

Aloha!

How big is the MINI scene in Hawaii? My girlfriend's sister lives with her husband in Oahu. The Shinkansen is quite impressive! I thought it was pretty cool that the tracks were banked on curves.

Loads of MINIs here. I have not done anything organized with a group - so not too sure how big the scene is - but I wave at a new one every day. There are 4 or 5 in the garage of our building (including 1 with consulate plates).

that's good to know! since I'm not too keen on visiting future in-laws in Hawaii, at least I can look forward to meeting more MINI enthusiasts....it's good excuse to get away and talk cars!
