Milo, I never had the pleasure of meeting your mum but I could tell from our odd chats via pagers and her posts on here what a lovely person she was.

sad sad news, we had the great pleasure to finally meet her at this years charity ball...

I am sorry to hear of Ruthie's passing. Too bad I never met her, although I enjoyed her responses on the Mini 2 forum. Sounded like she was a very sharp lady with all the right barbs & retorts. I took a look at her photo, very fitting! She went out in a blaze, very brave! Our condolences to her son & family. May she rest in peace.

Milo, I found a few threads that you might like to read at some point. Stuff that Ruthie was involved in, or was interested in, and a couple that show how a lot of people here felt about her

I've been trying to think of what to post.... I'm still in a lot of shock over this, have been in tears quite a fair bit after hearing the news. Ruthie was a dear friend to me, she has helped me out so much in my life and has really touched me. She was always there to pick me up when I was down, and always managed to put a smile on my face

I'll miss you Ruth, such a great person who was always loved by all.

Milo... mate, my deepest condolences to you and the rest of your family... please always remember what a gem your Mum was, and how much she loved life.

I'm sure Milo won't mind me posting the only decent pic I have of him here but these are four photos that were taken with us after breakfast and just before they left Vermont to visit another M2'er, Actual Size (Rick) in New Hampshire. Mark who is a long standing family friend and a truly wonderful person is in the background in one of the pictures too. (The other adult in that photo is my sister in law Julia). In another Ruthie is modelling a winter hat that I bought there - what a fun gal

. As you can see her MCS is beautiful.

The picture of her with Milo shows them checking her camera which had run out of battery power and these are the photos that I sent her which she was meaning to put up.

From reading all these superb comments, she was very fortunate to be involved in the MINI2 community. Not being here very long, I feel sad that I've missed someone special. My thoughts and grief are with you.

I've found an on-line guestbook for Ruthie where you can leave condolences. At the moment there are a couple of entries there from friends/family and it seems so empty

so I've added to the messages and put up a photo too.

Please note that if you do leave a message it will be a short while before the message will appear as messages are reviewed first.

It would be a lovely gesture if some of us could find the time to add to it to show everyone how loved Ruthie was (and still is) in the MINI2 community.
