| Every once in a while you come across someone who makes you realise it's good to stop and smell the roses. Ruthie was that person. I am honoured to have had her as a friend. She stayed at my house on two occasions and read my kids bedtime stories. I can remember her reading "Goodnight Moon" to Ryan as if it was last week. I last saw Ruthie a month ago in Vermont with Milo and her dear friend Mark. We had a fabulous time and took those silly pictures that M2'ers love to take. She was planning on coming to the Charity Ball next year and as usual was full of energy and smiles. To say that I was stunned by this tragic news yesterday would be an understatement. I have spoken with many other M2'ers today whose lives she touched and who are still coming to grips with this sad loss. I was fortunate to be able to talk with Milo earlier today. Milo, you have a difficult time ahead of you but I know that you have the strength of character to carry on. It is with Milo's permission that I can tell you that the circumstances which led to Ruthie being taken away from us appear to have been an asthmatic attack which brought on cardiac arrest. I know that they managed to share some family time together by having Thanksgiving a day early as he was due to work all day on Thanksgiving Day. He has been taken aback by the response from this community. I would encourage everyone to share and celebrate Ruthie's life in the "I love Ruthie" thread in the Off Topic section where I know that people have been posting fond memories of their times with her. Her car registration summed up Ruthie perfectly - "SOLEIL" or sun/sunshine. ![]() Goodnight Ruthie until tomorrow - say hello to Ed up there. | So sorry to hear this. Milo, our sincere condolences. Your mother, as I'm sure you know, was one of the best loved members of this community. My partner and I were also lucky enough to meet her at the Charity Ball earlier this year. May she rest in peace. Karl and Josefina. |

| Milo: Your mom and my Max were such good friends. They had a real connection. What made them so special is how much they gave of themselves to the mini community (and the non-mini community) - and they always were willing to spend time, to go out of their way, to Make A Difference in someone's life. I'm sure your mom loved life as much as Ed loved life. We need to love life, too - even with its trials and tribulations. You and I will make them proud of us by how we live our lives. I wish you so much peace during this difficult time. I'm thankful I knew your mom, and I'm looking forward to seeing her again. I know that I know that I know that Max is once again enjoying her company. Much love to you, Mart |

| I met your mother Milo on MTM2004. My very first MTM, and I didn't have much of a hand in organising it at the time. One thing that immediately stuck me was how well this woman was liked, and loved by the other people taking part in our little event here in Ireland. I thought to myself, this is the type of person MINI should give a Salary to, for all the community spirit she brings. You know, it was extremely co-incidental, but, perhaps having Quack Quak with us and having the happy memories of Ruthie along, is what kept everyone is such good spirits all night long at the first MINI event of our new Club. Milo, don't ever think of your Mum as gone and departed, she's still the life and soul of the party in our hearts, and will always be that way. |

| To Milo and family -- When people like your Mother pass, they are remembered by so many people; becase of this they live on in our hearts and minds. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting your Mom at our dear Ed's memorial service. It did not take me more that a minute to feel her good spirit and hear her kind words; she was remarkable. My sincere condolences to you and all of Ruthie's family. Theo "The problem with using quotes from internet sources is that you can never be sure they are authentic." - Abraham Lincoln |
