End of the line for the first generation MINI

Apparently the last of the "old" MINIs went down the line Yesterday, so now it's only Convertibles and the new model being produced. The last one is going to the USA.

Sad day for the supercharger.

Talking of the new model...............where are they? I haven't seen one on the roads yet! You all hiding? I've seen more GP's!

Sad times for the First Gen. They made a big impact on the car industry. Legend

I havent seen any R56s on the road yet either. Not one! Sure I will do soon though!

As long as MINIs are being made, I'm a happy bunny, but a touch sad all the same about the end of the supercharged Ss and their beautiful whine Just don't feel as attached to and as thrilled by the turbos

I can't sense a great deal of excitement for the 'new' one on this side of the pond. Maybe the 'let's not buy it the first year' attitude is kicking in.

I'll have to get 2 of these badges as I owned an 2 R50's before my R53.

MINI Magnetic Badges (Page 8)

Another new era has been born today then also.

A 21st century version of the Classic MINI owners club!

I've got two R56 on the driveway, but other than that not seen one on the road.

I followed a silk green 1st gen Cooper home for some of the way in the new S today, that was a rare site indeed!

Saw a blue & white one a couple of days ago with 4 old people in it. White bonnet stripes, Roof, Mirrors etc with 17" Crowns.

Let it go past in the hope it's back end didn't look so bad actually "on the move"

Didn't work, those suspension struts & that awful backbox just stare out. Hopefully a facelift might address this.

Interested to know what sales are like, take out everyone who jumped the gun and bought before launch, how many have bought since ?

I've had numerous calls from several MINI dealers asking me to come for a test drive, am I interested etc, despite explaining I won't be buying one.

shame, I wanted to like it
