Offline | LSD - worth the wait? Just got the dreaded "delayed"-call from my dealer. My MCS production was moved from week 51 to 04, and as I've specced the storage pack it will get further delayed (until March) if I want that option. I'm actually willing to remove the storage pack, however, March build also means that the LSD will be available, which I initially wanted. Now, 1st gen MINI seemed to benefit from the LSD, will the same go for the new MCS? Or should the DSC be enough? Note that I live in Norway, and the roads are frequently snowy or slippery. In short: will the LSD (and storage pack) be worth the 6 or so weeks wait? ![]() |

Offline | On snow... probably worth waiting for LSD. In the UK I've driven both LSD and non LSD cars and you can really only notice a difference when pushing super hard or pushing hard on wet roads. LSD helps drive both wheels, DSC just cuts engine power when traction is lost to stop the wheels spinning. I guess on snow you want more traction rather than a device that stops wheel spin. |

| Kaptain Krutaroo | so LSD is delayed in the UK - doesn't seem to be delayed in the US just yet. I wonder if it has anything to do with right-hand drive cars versus left-hand drive cars. I called MINIUSA yesterday and they have no bulletins on it being delayed for the first week of January builds. Kaptain Krutaroo - Kurt Collins - Washington, DC #8 2009 MINI JCW CR/B |

Offline | Yeah, that's right! ![]() Thanks for the input ButtonIt, it's not an easy decision but I guess I could survive those extra weeks, extra traction will probably be nice to have on occation. |
