Offline | Have you met Quack Quack Jack? (Maxa and Ruthie Remembered) SEE POST 16 BELOW Paul - and everyone, What do you think of the idea of having a small QQJ/Duckie logo permanently on the site header somewhere (Paul, do you remember you did that following Maxa's death for a while)? He has become an important symbol, not only for Maxa and Ruthie, but for a wide and large group of regular members here. Many runs and events organized through M2 by M2 communities all over the world feature Duckie - he reminds us of lost friends, and generates plenty of feel-good factor - and, to me anyway, he's become almost inseparable from M2 and MINIs. And I'm sure new members will wonder what it's doing here, and will hopefully ask and give us an opportunity to tell them about Maxa and Ruthie ![]() It's an idea, anyway, and it would be good to get everyone's point of view I've set up a simple pole too![]() Last edited by pappillon : Dec 12th, 2006 at 11:38 AM. |

| Awwww %%%% it! | It's a lovely idea but we have 40,000 members and as much as Ruthie & Max were special to me there are others who we have lost too who we should also consider. It would not seem right IMO to make one persons passing more "special" than anothers. And as we continue to grow, and as , some of us, continue to age and pass away at what point do we stop ![]() |

| Merry Prankster | I think Angelina makes a fair point........QQJ has been to more charity balls than most M2'ers, and I know many folk still carry a duck in their car permanently. I wouldn't see QQJ as a tribute to Ed or Ruthie - I'd see QQJ as a mascot of international friendship. I'd rather be a lightning rod than a seismograph ![]() Ken Kesey 1935-2001 |
