Dealer build slots?

I've put a deposit down for an R56 cooper S with delivery due for 1st March 2007 (new number plate ). My dealer said he will initialise the build for about week 2 or 3 in January in order for it to arrive in time for March. I have called him and explained my concerns with the current delays people on Mini2 are experiencing and he said there is nothing to worry about as their cars have only been delayed by about a week and by the time March arrives the delays will have been sorted. Do you think this is true?

I remember when I placed my deposit that the dealer mentioned something about their allocation of 'build-slots'. Does every dealer have a certain amount of these slots? If so, does that mean if you order from one dealer you may get your car a lot sooner than if you order from another one who has used up their build slots?

my original delivery date was 3rd week jan i was told yesterday that the build date is now 07.02.07 so 1st march delivery now

I ordered my mini on the 6th of december and mine is still down for the 2nd week in Jan, not heard anything to say it has been delayed, so fingers crossed it will still arrive in Jan.
Every Dealer has a certain allocation of build slots for each month, when the mini came out the dealers got more than expected due to to launch but this will come down in time when i ordered mine in december the dealer only had an alloctaion of 4 for delivery in Jan
